Recovery and Healing

People who have undergone sexual violence may have emotional or physical symptoms for some time and after the event.  Each person's responses to sexual assault will differ, depending on individual circumstances, history of trauma and typical coping style.  This, when coupled with the thought of reporting the event, can be very confusing.  A survivor may be unsure if or when they would like to report what occurred.  Receiving emotional care or talking with someone for confidential support can be helpful. Confidential support options at Philadelphia University include, Counseling Services or the Student Health Center.
