Architecture and Design Center
The A&D Center is used primarily for design studio space providing 200 dedicated studio workstations for upper-level architecture and interior design students. The center also houses administrative and faculty offices, exhibit areas, a Materials Resource Library, support space and equipment for a variety of program activities and needs.
Ravenhill Studios
The Ravenhill Studios are used for foundation design studio space providing teaching areas for four studios (250 first- and second-year students in rotating studio classes). Administrative and faculty offices, support space and equipment for a variety of program activities and needs are adjacent to the studio spaces.
Weber Hall
Weber Hall provides lab spaces for technology instruction (including a lighting/acoustics lab) and a shop for woodworking and model building on the ground floor. Faculty offices, exhibit space and archive space are located on the upper level.
Philadelphia University Research Center - Manayunk
The Master of Science in Sustainable Design (MSSD) Program is housed in the Engineering and Design Institute in the heart of the historic Manayunk section of Philadelphia. The Institute is a state-of-the-art research institute focused on green materials, sustainable design and community outreach. The Institute contains useful tools and spaces that will support the program including a Heliodon (sun-study machine),
building-simulation software and the Composites Lab. You will bring your laptops to a wireless digital environment.
CAD Laboratories
The School presently has use of two CAD Labs (A&D Center and Search Hall) and limited access to a third graphic design computer lab located in Hayward Hall.
Shared University Resources
Art Center II + Mott Hall Studio
Drafting tables and easels are available for Drawing I and II studios. A review space is available in each classroom.
Paul J. Gutman Library
This 54,000 square foot state of the art facility houses some 87,000 monographs and 1,600 serial titles designed to support teaching, study and research for the University community. The seating capacity of 450 includes study carrels for design student work.
Media Services
Media Services, located in the Paul J. Gutman Library, supports the audio visual needs for the entire College (slide projectors, film projectors, VCR's and monitors, overhead projectors, screens, etc.) Media Services houses a photography studio which services all programs and provides equipment for faculty use including: camcorders, cameras, copy stands, light tables, light stands, a slide scanner and a color copier.
