Architecture
The five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) program is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). Five years of study is the minimum time required for the professional B.Arch. degree.
In the United States, most state registration boards require a degree from an accredited professional degree program as a prerequisite for licensure. The National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), which is the sole agency authorized to accredit U.S. professional degree programs in architecture, recognizes three types of degrees: the Bachelor of Architecture, the Master of Architecture, and the Doctor of Architecture.
A program may be granted a six-year, three-year or two-year term of accreditation, depending on its degree of conformance with established educational standards. Master’s degree programs may consist of a pre-professional under-graduate degree and a professional graduate degree that, when earned sequentially, constitute an accredited professional education. However, the pre-professional degree is not, by itself, recognized as an accredited degree.Interior Design
The Interior Design Program at Philadelphia University leading to a four-year Bachelor of Science degree prepares students to work with clients and architects to successfully design interior building space that complements our rapidly evolving technology and information driven society.
The program is fully accredited by the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDA).
Landscape Architecture
The Landscape Architecture Program recently received Candidacy Status from the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board (LAAB). The University will continue to seek full accreditation for the Program, which can occur upon graduation of the Program’s first class (May 2008). Five years of study is the required time for the professional BLA degree at Philadelphia University.
