For Community Agencies

Philadelphia University appreciates the opportunity to work with community agencies in developing service placements for students, faculty and staff. If you are non-profit, governmental or public service agency and would like to invite our students, faculty or staff to serve at your agency, you may register as part of our Community Partner database.

The office of Community Service Learning views community agencies as critical partners in the learning process. Much of a successful service-learning course, volunteer activity, and/or internship depends on the quality of the service experience. Community partners are essential to help frame and guide that experience, adding real-world expertise and exposure to the theories about which students are learning.

We constantly seek opportunities to develop relationships with community agencies that provide reciprocal benefits to campus and community. Our hope is that our students, faculty and staff will work with others in the community to learn about and address issues of local and global importance.

To be placed on our community partner listing, or if you are simply looking for volunteers, contact Mary Ann Ernesto, Associate Director of Student Development.

At Philadelphia University, we take pride in our contributions to our community. On a daily basis, our students serve the Greater Philadelphia Area. Whether it be by participating in our annual Day of Service, volunteering through our work-study program, mentoring a child with our VISTA P.U.M.P.-up Program or helping the community in our Learning Community programs or SERVE-101 class, PhilaU students work tirelessly with an array of community partners to give back.

This site is a tool that we have set in place to better organize our more than 200 community partners. Through the site, students can find volunteer opportunities that will best suit their interests, schedules and transportation needs. Students can also find all the contact information necessary to get in touch with our community partners.

Through this site we hope to maximize the number of Philadelphia University students involved with community service projects in our community. Our vision is to ensure that each and every student pays it forward and has at least one impactful service experience during his/her career at PhilaU.

If you have any questions or would like more information about how to get involved, please email Mary Ann Ernesto or call the Student Development office at 215-951-2634.
